Meet Our Team

Dedicated and committed to empowering families through accessible resources and services.

Luis Arellano | Founder

Luis Arellano is the Founder of Cada Familia, a resource platform dedicated to helping families connect with verified services for health care, food assistance, housing support, and other essential needs. As a first-generation college student from a low-income background, Luis understands how difficult it can be for families to navigate complex systems when seeking basic resources.

Luis is currently a student at the University of Texas at Austin, where he studies philosophy while pursuing a pre-medical track. His academic work focuses on health policy, health equity, and public health systems.

Alongside his studies, Luis works in community health and clinical settings supporting underserved families. He serves as a coordinator and administrator at a free pediatric clinic for uninsured children and is actively involved in research on health policy and chronic disease prevention. His work has been presented at institutions including Dell Medical School and the American Heart Association.

Through Cada Familia, Luis aims to simplify access to critical resources by creating a reliable, easy-to-use platform where families can find verified services in their communities.

Dixie Harper | Co-Founder

Dixie Harper is the Co-Founder of Cada Familia, working alongside Luis to build a dynamic platform connecting Texas families with accessible, reliable resources.

As a passionate health advocate and community leader, Dixie is deeply committed to advancing equitable care for individuals across all walks of life. Currently pursuing a nursing degree, Dixie aspires to become a pediatric intensive care nurse and, ultimately, a nurse practitioner. Driven by her dedication to equitable healthcare, she founded a Women’s Health Club at Austin Community College, a space where women can explore meaningful careers in healthcare and engage in hands-on community service.

Her commitment to care extends well beyond academics. At Dell Children’s Medical Center, Dixie works in Patient Observation, providing emotional and behavioral support to pediatric patients and offering comfort to infants undergoing treatment. Additionally, she volunteers at Lirios Pediatrics, a free clinic serving uninsured children, and contributes time at the Austin Animal Center.

Through her work with Cada Familia, Dixie hopes to create lasting, meaningful change, connecting families with verified resources that have the power to change lives.
